Work starts June 5 on the Glassford Hill Road enhancement project
Prescott valley, AZ: The Town of Prescott Valley is preparing, along with the contractor Asphalt Paving & Supply, to begin the Glassford Hill Road enhancement project on Monday, June 5. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Crews are expected to begin northbound on Glassford Hill Road on the north side of Florentine Road and continue to Veterans Way. Traffic control is only in one direction, at a time, and will include up to two closed lanes to provide for a safe work zone.
Work will take place in two of the three lanes in each direction, with traffic moving in the third lane. When the two lanes are complete, traffic will be shifted, and the final lane completed. Live traffic will be separated from active work zones with barriers to ensure safety of construction personnel.
Impacts and delays are expected as crews will remove up to two feet of existing pavement and subgrade, so the work zones will be fully closed to traffic during each phase. Business driveways during construction will be restricted but not completely closed, and alternate entrances/exits will be accessible. Adequate signage will be in place.
Drivers are encouraged to use caution, adhere to reduced speed limits, be aware of construction equipment and personnel and allow extra travel time while driving through the active work zones. Please note, construction activities will be suspended for the July 4th holiday and no work is expected from June 30 through July 5.
