Criminal Investigations Division 

Criminal Investigation Division is made up of four sub-units:

  • Criminal Investigations Section (CIS).  CIS is led by Detective Sergeant Tom Grant and has six detectives assigned. Each detective is in CIS is assigned a criminal specialty and investigates crimes against people, property crimes, frauds, and deaths. All of the detectives assigned to this section are cross-trained to investigate all felony criminal matters. 
  • Special Victims Unit (SVU).  SVU is led by Detective Sergeant Dan Hays. SVU consists of a Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) with two detectives and three civilians. One detective specializes in sex crimes and the other detective specializes in child abuse and domestic violence.  The SART civilian staff includes two Victim Services Liaisons and an administrative support specialist.  These two additional Victims Services Liaisons serve victims of crime that fall outside the purview of our SART team.
  • Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU). DEU is led by Detective Sergeant Danny Eller and has three detectives assigned.  Each detective in this unit proactively works with other detectives within our division, and the Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking (PANT) to thwart narcotics trafficking and illicit drug sales within the Prescott Valley community.  
  • Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking (PANT). PANT is facilitated by the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office but is staffed by one Prescott Valley Police Detective who is inserted into a county-wide narcotics task force.
