Responsibilities
The Prescott Valley Police Department SVU is victim centered and provides evidence base and trauma informed care for victims throughout the response and investigation of misdemeanor and felony offenses for Sexual Assault, Child Abuse, and Domestic Violence cases. SVU is committed to being proactive in the community promoting awareness, education, and resources for preventative intervention.
Victim Rights are part of the Arizona State Constitution. As a victim of crime there are automatic rights but there are also rights that you must request. Victim Services will help you better understand these rights and how you can exercise them to your benefit.
The Criminal Justice System is complex and can become overwhelming. Victim Services helps victims and their families understand and participate in the Criminal Justice process in a meaningful way through support and guidance. There are numerous community resources available to victims and survivors of crime. Our goal is to ensure that you know the resources that will help you regain your well-being.
