Leashing, Licensing, and Vaccinating Your Dogs
One of the missions of the Prescott Valley Police Animal Control Unit is to educate dog owners about leashing, licensing, and vaccinating their dogs against rabies in compliance with Prescott Valley Town Ordinance Chapter Six.
Prescott Valley Town Code requires all dogs in the Town of Prescott Valley be licensed. Dog licenses can only be obtained through www.petdata.com/for-pet-owners/pva. It is a citable violation of the Town Code to keep an unlicensed dog within Town limits. To obtain a pet license, a current rabies vaccination record must be provided at the time of pet license purchasing.
Prescott Valley Town Code also requires that dogs be restrained by a leash not exceeding six feet in length when the dog is not on the owner’s property. This also applies to retractable leashes that may extend more than six feet. The only exception to this rule is when dogs are at a fenced dog park. The full Prescott Valley Town Code is available for review at www.prescottvalley-az.gov/237/Town-Code.
