The Prescott Valley Police Department is seeking accreditation through the Arizona Association of Chiefs of Police Arizona Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (ALEAP), which is the accrediting agency for the State of Arizona.  The accreditation process assists law enforcement agencies to measure and improve their overall performance and demonstrate that they meet commonly accepted best practices and industry standards.

A team of assessors from ALEAP will be coming to the Prescott Valley Police Department on Wednesday and Thursday, March 22 and 23, to examine all aspects of the Department’s policies and procedures.

As part of this final on-site assessment, employees and members of the public are invited to provide comments to the Assessment Team in the following ways:

  • The public may call 928-772-5620 on Thursday, March 23, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.  Telephone comments are limited to five minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with the Commission’s standards.
  • Anyone wishing to offer written comments about the Prescott Valley Police Department’s ability to comply with the standards for accreditation is requested to email the Accreditation Manager at nroberts@prescottvalley-az.gov or write the Arizona Law Enforcement Accreditation Program at 75 E. Civic Center Drive, Gilbert, AZ  48296. Email comments can be sent to the ALEAP Accreditation Program manager Kevin Rhea at kevin.rhea@azchiefsofpolice.org.
  • Additionally, a copy of the standards is available for inspection at the Prescott Valley Police Department, 7601 E. Skoog Blvd. Prescott Valley, Arizona 86314.  Please contact Lieutenant Nancy Roberts, Accreditation Manager at (928) 772-5172. These standards can also be found online at www.azchiefsofpolice.org/aleap-accreditation-program.
