1. What is Mountain Valley Splash’s operating season?

Mountain Valley Splash is a seasonal facility and opens on Saturday of the Memorial Day weekend and continues through the first Sunday of August. Click below for more information on the services and programs offered by the Mountain Valley Splash Aquatics Center.

2. Where is the pool located?

The physical address is 8600 E Nace Lane and it is inside the southern half of Mountain Valley Park. If you are headed northbound on Robert Rd, take a right on Nace Ln and then enter the park via the second entrance to Mountain Valley Park. You will see the pool directly ahead of you.

3. Can I bring a flotation device/life Jacket for my kids?

Yes. You are permitted to bring a life jacket as long as it is U.S. Coast Guard approved. We do offer free rentals of life jackets at the facility on a first come first served basis. Any life jackets that are not U.S. Coast Guard approved will not be permitted. We do not allow any other type of flotation devices such as inflatable rafts, rings, loungers, water wings or other flotation devices and they will not be allowed in to the facility.

4. What is proper swim attire?

Proper swim attire must be worn while in the pool at all times. You must be wearing an actual swim suit to enter the pool. For males, board shorts and swim trunks must be worn and for females a one piece or two piece suit must be worn. Women may wear a pair of swim shorts over their suit and men and women are permitted to wear a t-shirt but it must be light colored. Dark colors and heavy fabrics extract chemicals from the pool and will not be permitted. No cut of jeans, jean shorts, basketball shorts, sports bras, or other unapproved swim attire will be permitted.

5. If I will not be swimming will I still be charged to enter the facility?

Yes, each person who enters the facility, regardless if you will be swimming or not will be charged the entrance fee. We have a facility usage fee that is charged depending on your age and there is a capacity on the number of patrons that we allow in the facility at any time.

6. When is the concession stand open and what do you sell?

The concession stand is open Monday through Sunday during our Open Swim time (1pm to 4:30pm) only. We vend: hot dogs, nachos, pretzels, chips, pickles, ice cream, assorted candy, and soft drinks. All food must be consumed in our concession area and it will not be permitted on the deck.

7. When is the splash pad turned on?

The splash pad is on during Open Swim sessions (1pm – 4:30pm) Monday through Sunday and also during Family Night sessions (6:30pm to 8:00pm) on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The Splash pad will not be turned on during any other programs and it is not available for rental.

8. If the pool closes due to weather will I get a rain check to come back another day?

No. Pool passes or refunds will not be issued due to weather related occurrences no matter what length of time you have been at the pool because the weather is out of our control. We will close the facility for the required amount of time and do our very best to get you back into the pool; however, we will not allow anyone back into the facility until it is safe to do so.

9. Is the Mountain Valley Splash Pool chlorinated?

Yes. The pool is chlorinated using a salt generating chlorinating system along with Calcium Hypochlorite to keep our water softer.

10. Why isn’t the swimming season longer?

Our season ends in the beginning of August to adjust for the beginning of the school year. With students returning to their classes our staffing levels diminish. We also host the Bradshaw Mountain High School swim team for practice and swim meets.  We offer Aqua Aerobics and Lap swim through the end of August to the general public. Please review our Post season schedule and consider the opportunity to rent out the facility.

11. Why do I have to occasionally wait to enter the pool?

Our facility has a limited capacity and once that limit is reached we restrict admission to the facility. If you decide to wait in line you will be admitted as others decide to leave the pool.
