Escape Room Puzzle Box Challenge-Davy Jones Locker, June 7th, 2023

Prescott Valley Public Library is having an Escape Room Puzzle Box Challenge. Calling all teens and adults, join us on Wednesday, June 7th, 2023, from 2:00-3:00 or 3:30 -4:30 pm for Escape the Room Puzzle Box Challenge! One hour, that’s all the time you have! In this fun adventure you will need to solve clues and puzzles to unlock your cube. Work as a team to solve puzzles and escape the room before your time is up. Will you be able to free Excalibur from the Stone, or Summon the Last Dragon? Will you be able to discover the specimen in Stranger Things, or unlock the souls of dead sailors, from Davy Jones Locker? Come to the library and use your analytical skills and have some fun solving the mysteries.

In this fun adventure you will need to solve clues and puzzles to unlock your cube. Work as a team to solve puzzles and escape the room before your time is up. Are you the chosen ruler who is destined to remove the famed Excalibur sword from the stone? In this adventure you will need to solve clues and puzzles to figure out how to free the sword by unlocking various parts of the box. This game is part escape room and part puzzle box. Come to the library and use your analytical skills and have some fun solving the mysteries.

Calling all teens and adults, join us on Wednesday, June 7th, 2023, from 2:00-3:00 or 3:30 -4:30 pm for Escape the Room Puzzle Box Challenge! One hour, that’s all the time you have! In this fun adventure you will need to solve clues and puzzles to unlock your cube. Work as a team to solve puzzles and escape the room before your time is up. In this dragon themed game you will need to solve puzzles and clues to unlock various parts of the box and uncover secret compartments. Only the chosen one will be able to unlock the box and uncover the ancient dragon pendant to summon the last dragon. Are you the chosen one?. Come to the library and use your analytical skills and have some fun solving the mysteries.

Calling all teens and adults, join us on Wednesday, June 7th, 2023, from 2:00-3:00 or 3:30 -4:30 pm for Escape the Room Puzzle Box Challenge! One hour, that’s all the time you have! In this fun adventure you will need to solve clues and puzzles to unlock your cube. Work as a team to solve puzzles and escape the room before your time is up. Straight from the upside down to your home comes this fun and challenging escape room style game themed after one of our favorite shows. In this fun adventure you will need to solve clues and puzzles to unlock various parts of the cube with the ultimate goal of finding an important specimen from the upside down which lies hidden in the cube. From the twinkling Christmas lights to the waffle, this game is filled with references and themes from the hit show. Come to the library and use your analytical skills and have some fun solving the mysteries.

Conversational Spanish, June 8th, 2023

Prescott Valley Public Library will be offering a 4-week Conversational Spanish class series on Thursday, starting on June 8th, 2023 @ 2:30– 3:30 pm. in the Glassford Hill Meeting Room.

Backyard Poultry Basics, June 8th, 2023

Prescott Valley Public Library is hosting in person program, Backyard Poultry Basics on Thursday, June 8th, 2023, from 5:00-6:30 pm. Come visit the Prescott Valley Library to learn the basics about getting started with chickens. Learn about raising chickens, proper housing, basic biosecurity for the flock and to ensure safe eggs to consume. The program will be presented by Ashley, a Livestock Area Agent with the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension. Ashley will be on hand to answer your questions about owning backyard chickens.

Health Talks: Healthy Relationships, June 15th, 2023

Prescott Valley Public Library will be hosting Health Talks: A Wellness and Prevention Series provided by Yavapai County Community Health Services. This month’s presentation is Healthy Relationships. Please join us on Thursday, June 15th, to talk about ways to promote healthy relationships, including romantic relationships and friendships. We will also discuss relationship red flags and what to do if you are concerned for yourself or someone you know.

SilverKite Community Art Classes: Abstract Acrylics Pre-registration required – Virtual Online Live Class

Prescott Valley Public Library in partnership with Silverkite Community Art Classes presents Abstract Acrylics on Saturday, June 24th, 2023, at 10:30-11:30 am art class for adults. Abstract acrylics is an opportunity to engage with the sensorial experience that acrylics provide as well as the freedom available in abstraction. Although there may be a final piece in mind, this workshop is process driven to allow for your artmaking to inspire decision making.

Scavenger Hunt for Families

Bring along the whole family to collaborate and complete an outdoors scavenger hunt! This is a drop in event and will be available between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm, but make sure to give yourself plenty of time to complete the scavenger hunt before 4:00 pm. It is also recommended to come prepared with tennis shoes, sunscreen and plenty of water. Registration is not required.

Have you ever wanted to create art with a professional drawing tablet? Here’s your chance to use digital technology as part of your creative process. There are limited tablets available. Note: This is a free digital painting program. There will only be minimal and beginner instruction.

Explore various careers and play VR games using the Oculus Quest 2. Choose from several apps to explore interests from firefighting, art, physics game, to a NASA astronaut. You can even play a fun game of BeatSaber! Plus, there's a new Job Simulator app as well! There are limited 30-minute timeslots available. Priority given to teens who register for a timeslot. Teen - Sea Turtle Connections by Reef HQ Aquarium (Australia): Live on Zoom

Join us 'down-under' for a live virtual program in Australia! Learn about the Great Barrier Reef and the species of Marine Turtle found in Australian waters. Teens & Tweens: Creative Writing Workshop with Bestselling Author Melissa Marr

Prescott Valley Public Library is hosting bestselling author Melissa Marr on Saturday, June 24th, 2023. Join Melissa for a personal, interactive and epic creative writing workshop for tweens and teens. Melissa writes popular fiction for children, teens, and adults and is a NY Times Bestseller. She is best known for the Wicked Lovely series for teens but has other popular books for all ages and is coming out with a Harley Quinn graphic novel in 2024. This event has a limited capacity and is open to tweens and teens only.

Prescott Valley Public Library presents author Melissa Marr, Saturday, June 24th, 2023, from 1:00-2:00 pm in the auditorium. Melissa writes fiction for adults, teens, and children. Her books have been translated into 28 languages to date and have been bestsellers in the US (NY Times, LA Times, USA Today, Wall Street Journal) as well as various countries overseas. She is best known for the Wicked Lovely series for teens and Graveminder for adults--and her utter inability to stick to one age demographic, format, and genre.
